Jesse expresses great sorrow for his missing father in the poem “Hey Daddy”, but what could have happened to him? I consider that Jesse’s dad went to the military and aborted an airplane and he doesn’t want his father to leave. Another reason that could have occurred was, Jesse’s father could have got onto a plane and the plane crashed. First, I consider that Jesse’s father had to go to the military and aborted a plane. In the poem it says “I didn’t want you to get on that plane I didn’t want you to take that flight.” This indicates that Jesse’s father has to be heading somewhere on an aircraft.
