Analysis Of Madelines Rescue

Madelines Rescue uses extremely simplistic drawings throughout the book with a simplistic color scheme of black, yellow, and white. The exception of this is a few pages in which more detail and color is utilized. The illustrations, however, simplistic in color and line add to the plot and convey events, not in the text. One of the things I found to be most interesting was despite the simplicity of the illustrations; there was also great detail in many as well. For instance p. 37 the text reads “In every place they called her name”. The picture above the text shows the girls calling for the missing dog in a graveyard. While the illustration contributes to conveying the different places the girls searched not explicitly mentioned in the text.
