I think that Philip will win the court case between him and the school because he has the right to be patriotic.
To start off with there are a couple pieces of evidence that Ms.Narwin is lying. The first quote to prove that Ms. Nawrin is wrong is, “We were about to begin. In fact, we usually begin by singing the national anthem. Maybe you’d like to lead us in that? Philip? Philip, What’s the matter? Why are you crying?” Philip,”I don’t know the words.” This proves that he was not singing the Star-Spangled Banner because you can’t sing anything without knowing the words to the song. The second piece of evidence that Ms. Narwin is wrong is “Philip is that you singing again?” Said by Ms. Narwin on page 71. Again Philip wasn’t singing the Star-Spangled Banner he was humming the Star-Spangled Banner.“A disturbance by singing? Singing “The Star-Spangled Banner”?” Page 120 said by Dr. Seymour. I inferred that Dr. Seymour is also shocked beyond words from singing the Star-Spangled Banner which is played every morning over the intercom.…show more content… Narwin trying to get her facts straight and to find a way out of causing Philip to get suspended and the last example is of Mr. Malloy reading what was in the paper . “But do you allow singing” Page 50 Ms. Narwin asking Mr. Lunser. Ms. Narwin is trying to find out if Mr. Lunser also doesn’t allow humming in his class. “I think you need to speak to our principal.”Page 114 said by Ms. Narwin to Jennifer Stewart. She is trying to get this off of her shoulders so she doesn’t have to go to court or to have to explain herself for sending Philip to the office. See, the superintendent says there’s no such rule. It was just the teacher.” Page 123 Said by Mr. Malloy. This shows that Ms. Narwin will not have a way out of getting blamed for the reason that Philip got
