On behalf of the Palos Hills Local Public Health Department, this letter serves as a literary informant of our district’s demographic concerns regarding health care concerns. According to a recent census it has come to our attention that the residential majority are woman and children of Middle Eastern decent. Due to this very specific demographic, it has been made clear that female physicians are favored due to cultural and religious reasons. Many Middle Easterners fall under the Islamic faith; where it is highly encouraged to maintain excellent health—particularly through a very natural diet and personal hygiene.
Due to cultural favoritisms it is highly recommended in the Middle Eastern Culture for one to seek medical guidance often to ensure good health. It has also been noted through thorough surveys with previous encounters of such demographics that in almost all cases, once symptoms of a medical issue have improved, many patients will discontinue adhering to the prescribed medication. Also upon recovery, follow-up appointments are rarely ever attended. In accordance to religious reasons, many Muslim patients oppose taking any hallucinating medications, or liquid medications that contain alcohol. With regards to these dually noted specifics our health department has ensured that thorough research will be done to guarantee that all prescribed medicines adhere to our patients’ religious concerns.
