"Is it a girl or a boy?" This is one of the first questions asked when someone finds out they are having a baby. According to Angela Phillips in the article In The Beginning There are Babies, she describes how parents and other begin to mold children into "appropriate" gender roles from birth. I actually believe this happens before birth, parents go out and buy pink and really light color clothing with flowers on them for girls. Even as a child gets older it is interesting how much gender roles are reinforced in a child's everyday life. In the article Time Warp in the Toy Store by Ellen J.
