This quote is one of the examples of The Road's theme of good versus evil. Here, the man is explaining what it means to be good as he says: “. . . they keep trying [and] they don’t give up.” I like this quote because it reminds me of this inspirational quote about "survival." That it can be summed up in three words ― never give up.
