In the year 1776, the declaration of independence was being published one of the biggest documents ever released on the road to revolution against Britain. This year was the peak of the extreme heat between Britain and her colonies. The declaration of independence one of America's most important documents was written as a way for colonist to justify independence against Britain.
One reason colonist used to justify independence is , the king of Britain put tax on tea. One detail that supports this idea is the tea act , leading to the boston tea party.
