In the book I am reading called The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi it is about a girl that has to go on a boat to America. The thing is she is going along with a crew full of boys. I think the theme is sometimes you have to take a leap of faith. There have been many conflicts so far in this book but one main conflict is that she is the only girl on the ship. Charlotte was expecting two other families but they could not make it. Charlotte obviously dislikes having to be the only girl on the ship. For example in the text it states, “ But . . . but that would be all men, Mr. Grummage! And . . . I am a girl. It would be wrong!” This shows that Charlotte really doesn't want to be the only girl on the ship. WHich affects her wanting
