In Understanding White Privilege, Francis Kendall discusses in depth about what white privilege is explaining how any one of us who are white have privileges however they vary depending on a person’s gender, sexual orientation and other social statuses. She does on to describe where white privilege may have come from sighting that it comes from as far back as the writing of the constitution.
“White people’s privileges are bestowed prenatally. We can’t not get them and we cannot give them away, no matter how much we do not want them.” (Kendall, 2002: 4)
