The rebellion also shows us how crucial circumstances were for farmers in the 1780s’. Many farmers property was concealed by the government and taken into hands by the bank. Shays’ Rebellion is one of many rebellion that was carried out across the states. According to the article “Daniel Shays” by Dictionary of American Biography 1936, a goal met by the rebellion was an agreement with militia and insurgents(rebels) disbanded, and the courts were adjourned. Many solutions that were taken were never the end of the rebellion, outbreaks continued throughout the territory. The state legislatures made no real grievances, by January 1787 the insurgents had given up hope of peaceful reform. The government chose to physically take the rebels and appointed Lincoln to suppress what had become an armed rebellion. A month later Lincoln’s army marched with his men to Petersham the sight of Shays’ troops and annihilated them all. Daniel Shays’ fled to Vermont, where he was then condemned to death by the supreme court. February following the sentence Shays’ petitioned for pardon, which was granted June 13.
