I believe one of the many factors for Canada's independence is WW1. This is because WW1 showed other countries that Canada can be leaders on the battlefield, Canada was given a seat at the Paris peace conference/ treaty of versailles and was an independent member of the league of nations. During the first world war Canada had shown other countries they were strong on the battlefield. An example is the battle of vimy ridge. On April 1917 Canadians troops were sent to capture Vimy Ridge after countries such as the United States, Great Britain and France etc had failed.
