Analyzing David Hogg's Speech

David Hogg said in his speech, “This time is different because we all see it a bit more clearly. Our enemy is not the left or right, our common enemy is gun violence.” David Hogg was caught in a school shooting where there were 17 deaths yet he survived. He believes that no other student should go through what he faced when he was in high school. Though David Hogg was nearly killed during the Parkland High School shooting, he is still advocating for anti-gun violence to this day through his organization called March For Our Lives. The school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School had a major impact on the students. This is the moment before Nikolas caused havoc in the school. He walked in purposefully to harm the students at the school. Another article states, “On February 14, 2018, David’s life changed forever. As a senior at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, he lost friends, classmates, and teachers. This evidence suggests that Nikolas is a careless guy. He had murdered 17 people which caused many physical and emotional damage to the students. It didn’t matter to him what happened because in the timeline of the crime, it was clear that after the shooting he went to McDonalds for a meal and then was arrested there.
