Analyzing George Gladwell's 'Tipping Point'

While reading the introduction of Tipping Point, I noticed Gladwell tells stories throughout his writing to give a message to his readers. His storytelling style of writing makes me want to keep reading about things I normally would not be interested in, for example, Hush puppies. He makes connections to things, which helps me as a reader relate to the message and ideas he is trying to give. Gladwell also uses figurative language, like similes, to create a sense of imagery. For example, I noticed Gladwell used the simile “ideas and products and messages and behaviors spread just like viruses do.” This showed a connection between the idea of ideas, products, messages, and behaviors being spread around through people’s thoughts and words just
