Ancient Egyptian military, although not as powerful as it’s neighbors, it was innovative with adapting to enemy weapons and technologies. It became a powerhouse of long ago thanks to the society that created it. Egyptian military became of one of the great armies of our history. Ancient Egyptians were a successful kingdom in it’s early years before Rome came and took over. Due to their position in Africa, they had the deserts to protect their backs and the Mediterranean Sea to protect their northern boarders. With being culturally united, it was easy to govern its people. Most other nations during this time had problems with small groups trying to break away and revolt against their nation. Egypt was united under their pharaoh, a king, who was a god in the people’s eyes. For hundreds of years, the people of Egypt prospered. With their natural defensive advantages, they had no need for walls, leaving their people feeling secure. . The influx of immigrants from Palestine into Egypt brought new technologies with them to take over a part of Egypt. They brought with them the horse and chariot, the compound bow, improved metal weapons, and new trade routes into western Asia. After the defeat, the Egyptians learned from their mistakes and reinvented their military. Of course, they had no short of enemies from coming up the Nile delta and nomads raiding the desert. The Pharaohs responded by force. In order to protect the Nile, forts and outpost were placed but in case of a much larger threat, the Pharaoh would return with an army behind him.
