In this paper, the individual who has been interviewed is Andaleep Kumar. Andaleep was born in India which is one of the biggest country of Asia. He has been living in the America since 1968. He did not come to America for permanent means, in fact, he came to America for higher studies. He was 18 years of age when he came to California.

After the movement which took place in America for the civil rights in 1960, there were great number of people who immigrated to United States of America. As a result of this movement, the issues of ethnicity faced by the immigrants was completely resolved because of which the population of the immigrants was increased in the America.

There were many individuals who immigrated in this era. Also, Andaleep added that there were large number of people who migrated from India after he was settled in the United States in America. However, the United States Government did not give citizenship to such type of individuals, told Andaleep.

Subsequently, Andaleep had to marry an American citizen, after that he can only get the citizenship of America as per the policies of American Government. Therefore, he married an American woman whose religion was Hinduism. Her name was Sasha Kulkarni. Sasha’s ancestors were residing in the America since the mid-19th century. Thus, it became easier for Andaleep to get the U.S. citizenship.

More importantly, the point which Andaleep now feels is that with the beginning of the 21st century there have been many issues raised and highlighted by the Government of United States because of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Andaleep told that “it was very difficult to bear that I being an American citizen was investigated by the investigating authorities of the United States just because I was not born in America.” The policies of the U.S. in the contemporary system have been very strict now regarding the immigration processes. Consequently, the increased rate of the immigrants which was seen in the late 20th century has decreased at a high
