Biographical essay
Andrew Jackson was born on March 15, 1767 in the Western part of the Carolinas called the Waxhaws, which is on the border of North Carolina and South Carolina. His parents Andrew and Elizabeth, two older brothers, Hugh and Robert emigrated from Ireland two years before he was born. His mother had to raise him and his brothers by herself because their dad passed away right before Andrew was born. Jackson's mother later passed away due to disease when he was 14 years old. Andrew had a good education by private tutors in his early years. He joined the Continental Army at 13, but later him and his brothers were captured by the British due to the war. During the war Jackson served as a general officer
