Andrew Mirjah: A Career In The Sports Industry

Andrew Mirjah is a full-time online student in the Masters of Sports Leadership program at Northeastern University. After graduating high school in 2007, Andrew was never sure of what he wanted to do career wise. He jumped from university to university, from job to job trying to figure out what he had a passion for.
After high school, he began at the local community college “Broward College” where he majored in General Studies. After a short while there, he believed that he wanted to pursue a career in aviation, so he then transferred to Vaughn College in Elmhurst, NY in hopes to become an air traffic controller. Unfortunately, soon after Andrew found out he was color blind and the goal of air traffic controller was short lived. This was when he came back to St. Thomas University to study Business Administration, as he was still unsure of the career path he wanted to take. While Business Administration was interesting, Andrew found himself fond of Religious Studies and the effect they have on society, this was when he finally graduated with his bachelor’s Degree in arts majoring in Religious Studies at Florida International University.

After high school, Andrew worked as a part-time sales associate at Macy’s. After graduating with his degree, Andrew still did not quite believe he was pursing a career he was passionate about. After some personal changing moments, he realized that the sports industry is something he could see himself building a career in.
