The purpose of this report is to document the arrest of Angela Beauchamp (F/W DOB 02/15/97) for, driving under the influence, unlawful consumption of an alcoholic beverage under 21, illegal transportation of alcoholic beverage, failure to wear seat belt and operating an uninsured vehicle.
I (Trooper Castillo #6570) was on patrol at 10:02 p.m. on 11/07/2015 when I observed a white Toyota Camry stopped at a green light at the bottom of the off ramp of I55 onto California Ave. I also observed the driver Angela Beauchamp was not wearing her seatbelt. I initiated a traffic stop on the white Toyota Camry Illinois temporary registration of 350S213. The Toyota pulled into the road ranger gas station located at 3300 s California ave. I approached the driver and gave the reason for the stop. I ask the driver for her driver’s license and insurance. The driver handed me her driver’s license but was unable to produce her insurance information. I observed a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Beauchamp’s facial area. I asked Beauchamp if she had been drinking, she stated no. I observed a strong scent of the…show more content… She stated yes she will because she wasn’t drinking. I asked her to exit her vehicle she complied after ordering her to exit the vehicle several time .Beauchamp became very irate towards me. I was preparing my PBT so I can administer the breath test. Beauchamp refused to submit a breath sample. I then asked her if she was willing to perform the standardize field sobriety test. She refused to perform the sfst. I had reason to believe that Beauchamp was under the influence of alcohol due to the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from her breath while she talked, her glassy gaze in her eyes and her irate attitude.
