Life as a teen parent is hard, you're a kid raising a kid, things are harder to navigate and you have to grow up a lot faster so you can provide the proper way. In Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas, the main character Maverick is trying to turn his life around for his kids. At some point in Lisa and Maverick’s relationship, they had a time where they were on a little break-up, Mav’s friend King wanted to help Mav get Lisa off his mind so he let him have sexual intercourse with his “girlfriend” Iesha. Iesha ended up pregnant, they all thought it was King’s baby, but when the baby was born he looked just like Maverick, all parties were in denial about the baby being his, eventually he got a DNA test and found out the baby was his, he then was left with the baby, Iesha had disappeared before his eyes, now he had to break the news to Lisa before anybody else did after running into her friend at the store while he was with the baby. …show more content…
