About the TextWhat she is doing in the text: Anna Quindlen argues that it isn’t right for children under age like elementary, and middle school to be taking standardized testings.
Too many teachers are risking elementary and middle school kids to advance academically without the use of their own knowledge of understanding the material or for them to actually teach the kids on how to attempt the testing without causing 9th graders to be held back repeatedly so their performances won't depress scores for tests administered in 10th grade.
Quindlen goes as far as saying this is a “form of child abuse.” Cheating ==standardized testing. average % of people held back. meaning the kids don't really acknowledge anything if the teachers just help them cheat their way to the top, what good does it does for the one’s that try and actually understand the material
“questions that make for dynamic learning, and what does this metastasizing testing, for every subject, at level, at every time of the year, do to kids? Quindlen say’s that there are other consequences. One is that the students will determine from this that those designing the test have no faith in their ability to handle differing perspectives and challenging intellectual material. Quindlen argues that this is sending the message to children that "we don't think you're smart enough." how did she Quindlen do? Part two is evaluation/your opinion. al
