This sample provides advice on how to properly format papers according to the Modern Language Association (MLA); it is in paragraph form to show how papers should look. Everything must be double-spaced, including the heading (as shown above). The heading should include your name, the instructor’s name, the course title, and the date written out (e.g. 19 May 2015). The title of your paper is centered (not bolded or underlined) and indicates the paper’s subject, but it should never be the same as the title of the work you are writing about.
