The crash of the Macon was a event that symbolized importance. The crash mirrored the declining money and spirit of once proud California Citizens. The Macon was a highly advanced helium filled plane the largest in the world. The plane was coming back when it got caught in wind causing it to crash head first into the pacific ocean. When the plane crashed the US was in a depression when the plane crashed the US lost thousands of dollars and breaking the spirit of California citizens. This is a major part of the depression because it showed California citizens that the depression won't end. …show more content…

The crash of the Macon can be for many different reason due to engine failure or the wind that caught it, but i think it was more due to the fact that the maker of the plane took risk and built it different from the planes before. They made different advancements to making the plane different such as putting the engines in a staggered pattern and not a straight line like the early modes. They also had lighter weight frames for the plane which could make it lighter in
