Music was a main part of his life during the next few years. It wasn’t until his late adolescent years in which Adams found a passion in photography. Adams first camera was a gift from his father. It was a Kodak Brownie box camera. During his trip to the Yosemite National Park, Adams took his first photographs. He then returned to Yosemite with better equipment and began capturing more photographs. That winter, Adams learned basic darkroom techniques through a job he had working at a photo finisher. Adams interest in photography led him into an adventure of exploring the photography field. He attended exhibits as well as club meetings. He also read magazines that related to photography. In 1928, Adams married Virginia Best, who was the daughter of the owners of Best’s Studio which Adams frequently visited.
