A man gains a fear of losing power when it is given to him. In Antigone Creon will not lose to a woman and he goes crazy with power. “Do you want me to show myself weak before the people?/ or to break my sworn word? No and I will not./ The woman dies”(Antigone, Line 28-30). This shows Creon will not stand down just because of a woman.
Power drives a man to make him believe he is invincible. A perfect example of this is Suddam Hussein. In 1979, Suddam had a meeting and removed 68 of his government officials, many of which were killed. Just like Creon, Suddam went mad with power after many of his officials disagreed with him and his views.
