Antiqua Rome
This paper is on Ancient Rome, the land of architectural geniuses. Our paper is based more on the side of kings and queens, emperors, nobles and royalty of Rome with a bit of daily life. This paper is based from the point of view of the future.
In 753 BC, Rome was founded by Romulus and he became the first king. In 45 BC Julius Caesar becomes the first dictator of Rome. He was later assassinated in 44 BC by Marcus Brutus. By 476 AD was the end of the Western Roman Empire and the fall of Ancient Rome.

The roads made it easier to travel. The basic currency of ancient Rome was the Aureus. The money was first named Nummus Aureus. For transporting goods, the ancient Romans used wagons or carts pulled by mules or oxen. For personal transportation they were on carriages. But the most efficient way to get travel was by foot.
Most Romans, both rich and poor, walked. Slaves were very important to the Romans, without them, wealthy Romans would not have lived the lifestyle they wanted to. Trade was very important to Ancient Rome. The population of the city of Rome was one million.
Romans were polytheistic which means that each Roman family has there one specific god that they believe in. They believed that the gods sent signs to humans in a form out of the ordinary. These include flights of birds and others. Later in life they started to believe in Christianity. Other people didn’t want to change their religion so they allowed the Jews to practice their religion, as long they followed the law. In 509 the Romans removed their kings and made the Roman Republic. The roman government had 3 branches. Two magistrates called consuls held civil and military authority in Rome, but they were not kings, the office of consuls lasted one year. Each consul could veto each other. They led the army and worked as judges as well as representing Rome in foreign affairs. The next branch was the Senate from the Roman word senates which means council of elders.
The Senate were the advisers of roman government. First they were chosen by kings, then consuls, but finally during the end of the 4th century they were chosen by the censors. At first senators were only Patricians (Upper class) but later Plebeians (lower class) also joined? The last branch was the Assembly. The boundaries between the different classes were very strict and enforced by the government, members of different classes even dressed differently. Only the emperor was allowed to wear a purple toga. Senators could wear a white toga with a stripe of purple. Equestrian togas had a thin purple
