Antisocial personality disorder, APD, is defined as a pattern of disregard of the rights of others occurring since age 15 years. APD can be identified by disregard for safety of self or others, lack of remorse, failure to plan ahead, and is indicated by repeated physical fights or assault. Usually these individuals are at least 18 years of age or older but there may be evidence of APD before the age of 15 years. APD is not exclusively during the course of schizophrenia or a manic episode. APD is just a part of psychopathy. Psychopathy is a disorder that is characterized by a lack of remorse, manipulativeness, criminal versatility, and the persistent violation of social norms. CD is defined as a behavioral problem involving persistent violations of the rights of others(Ramsland). ODD is when children and adolescents exhibit a pattern of defiant behavior. This includes resistance to authority figures. DBD-NOS is a category for people who show both CD and ODD but do not meet the criteria for either. Adjustment disorder: with mixed disturbance of emotions and conduct is an array of emotional symptoms and antisocial behaviors that happen within three months of a stressor.
