1400-1750 was the time of the Renaissance. The Renaissance was a time of art and inquiry thanks to the printing of books that allowed a mass spread of ideas, this allowed theorists and scientists to spread their information quickly making them and their way of thinking popular. With this art also developed by people studying anatomy helped those understand the body and make art a higher quality. The church did not like people exploring and possibly denning them so they were burning everyone that went too far and became a heresy but the church was actually doing a bad thing because these thinkers were changing the world one idea at a time. Copernicus’ Heliocentric system was an informed theory of his that was taken further by G. Bruno and then proven correct by G. Galilei this shows that Copernicus’ theory was revolutionary and a massive influence to our understanding of the universe. Copernicus was studying the solar system in a time where “the Church could have scientific thinkers burned as heretics” (History Alive 8 pg. 177) showing how brave and revolutionary he was to science and how he was against the church to be able to find out more. “This had an enormous impact on scientific thinking” (History Alive 8 pg. 177) this shows how revolutionary Copernicus’ ideas and theories were in his time and how they changed our views on the universe. In addition, “his theory was viewed as revolutionary” (biography.com) shows how revolutionary he was.
