This precious experience helped me to have a better understanding about autism and improved my communications skills. To interact with them is uneasy as they were reluctant and scared at first. However, they soon felt secure and comfortable to interact with me as I learnt to understand them and eventually establish and build rapport with them. Within the duration of work, he shared with me his experience as a PTs and enlightened me with some basic knowledge related to this profession. Through witnessing the consultations and treatments he gave to the patients, I gained an insight to this profession and it further kindled my interest in this field. However, at the same time, it gave me a great realization that I must be prepared to face lots of emotional and physical trials as a physiotherapist. Therefore, I must be firm yet understanding person when treating a patient.
The most challenging part of being PTs will be developing a holistic treatment plan that is flexible and tailor-made for all patients. A PTs treats patients from all age group, who suffered from musculoskeletal, neurological and cardio-respiratory disease. The treatment given to each patient is distinct as it is based on the type and severity of the disease while the efficiency and efficacy of the treatment is evaluated periodically. These situations require critical thinking skills, which I had honed extensively by joining numerous extracurricular
