Although your findings on your topic did not prove to be impressive, it would appear that you and your group learned something that you did not know, since your topic of choice must have been of interest to you all in order to ask a PICO question? Perhaps it would not be a "waste of time" as others may have the same question you and your group did. I don’t know the topic, but you have peaked my interest already.
