How does an unexpectedly bloody situation change the way you see someone you have known forever? The book April Morning by Howard fast is a book about how the colonial people reacted to the beginning of the American Revolutionary War. Joseph Simmons is a character who starts out being slow, but turns out to be a leader and a father figure toward Adam. Joseph Simmons is a slow man as he was uncomprehending what was criticized of him. Adam Cooper views a situation where Joseph was “slow to see” and didn’t catch onto what was being told to him (Fast 22).
