Child Labor Barney Skerritt died, Stephen Morzkiwenz had his fingers crushed, and many young children were hurt or killed because of one thing. During the late 1800s, many cities had children working long hours in treacherous conditions. Child labor was a horrible thing, but luckily there were good people to help end it.

First, many children had to go to work very early in dangerous conditions. Waking up early could have caused fatigue and clumsiness, which could have led to more accidents. “ Her working hours were from 6:30 in the morning to six at night” (Doc.1) The factories also had very dangerous conditions like glass on the floor and very hot temperatures. “Temperatures in the glass factories ranged from 100 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit.”
