Athletes are not selfish people and spend there money on themselves. Everyone says how the money could go to a better cause, but a lot of athletes put the money in charities. When athletes go out and play sports they have the risk of getting hurt or even dying. For example in nascar people have gotten concussions. Also in 2001 Dale Earnhardt Jr died racing in the Daytona 500, that goes to show that a lot of sports are dangerous. J. J. Watt plays for the NFL and in one of his games he broke his nose, it cost 7,000 dollars to get a broken nose fixed plus all the hospital bills. Jermichael Finley a former NFL player was paralyzed in a NFL game and he needed a lot of money to get help with his injury. And finally after an athlete's career they are not paid anymore so they need money to last throughout the rest of their lives. Athletes spend a lot of time away from their families training. Athletes are dedicated to their jobs and they train all the time so they can get better. Athletes train 6 days a week for 5 to 6 hours. They only get maybe a half of their day to do other things than training because they spend maybe 10 to 12 hours sleeping and then they only have 12 more hours to spend there day and there training takes up that time. They also only get one day to spend time with their family. So now do you think athletes are overpaid? Athletes not selfish people and they like to give to charities.
