As stated earlier, America was where folk had received plenty of praise, and even though it was no longer the premier American genre during the 1950’s, American’s still loved, played, and recorded folk. It has always been a genre with themes such as protest, work, and informality. This was defiantly what the themes Argentinean culture needed to respond to the mid- 1940’s. The Second World War era was confusing for many Argentinean people. The country was involved in the war for nearly the event’s entirety, but what was not clear was what side the country was on. There was good relationship between Argentina and Germany, who happened to be of Axis power. It was pretty obvious at first that Argentina would aid Germany, but Argentina also had a cruel rivalry with Great Britain, who was on the Allies power side. As the war continued into 1944, Argentina realized that Germany was losing its strength, and that the goals of Germany’s leader, Adolf Hitler, were becoming more and more delusional. Somehow, Argentina struck up a deal with the United States and they joined the Allies that same year. It was not much longer till Germany would inevitably fall.
