With professors teaching students how to think instead the way you think creates individuality. I have learned more in a few classes at junior college than four years of high school. It is okay to not have the same opinions as others as long as you can back up with evidence with your argument you are fine. I would not have adapted quickly enough if I went straight to a four-year. At this time of my life, I don't consider myself mature enough to be on my own without some guidance from my parents. I would have been worried about my brother and his last two years of high school and his antics that always get him in trouble. As lame as it sounds I would have easily partied out of college within the first semester because being a social butterfly doesn't help when getting projects or assignments
