In high school, we are pushed to pursue higher education. Literally convincing everyone they should become doctors and lawyers. Leaving already confused teenagers in a stigma to go to leave home at a rapid rate at the mature age of eighteen to pull out loans to pay for overpriced education. To get a degree a piece of paper to make your life “better” but many of these teens don't even enjoy school. While most of my teachers gave the face of disapproval when announcing that I was attending the local junior college because I had the grades to go to any state school in California.Making it obvious that people look down on community college. However, it can help you find yourself and save money while doing it. Community college allows everyone to begin their journey and doesn't turn their backs on people who want to further their education. Unlike four-year universities, community colleges have more flexibility at a lower cost than state or private universities. With professors teaching students how to think instead the way you think creates individuality. I have learned more in a few classes at junior college than four years of high school. It is okay to not have the same opinions as others as long as you can back up with evidence with your argument you are fine. I would not have adapted quickly enough if I went straight to a four-year. At this time of my life, I don't consider myself mature enough to be on my own without some guidance from my parents. I would have been worried about my brother and his last two years of high school and his antics that always get him in trouble. As lame as it sounds I would have easily partied out of college within the first semester because being a social butterfly doesn't help when getting projects or assignments
