Anne Curzan was on TED TALK discussing about her argument on dictionary. Anne’s argument was about who is in charge to put the official words in the dictionary. Anne thinks that when a person says, “that word isn’t real”, it means that they are not used regularly or appear in the standard dictionary. Anne says, “But how real are they if we use them primarily as slang and they don't yet appear in a dictionary”? The first part she talks about her argument is the dictionary itself. She states that most people don’t use them in general. Anne is a history teacher who likes her students to give her new slang words before class starts. For Anne, not only is she learning words from her student’s perception but also she looks at it as her
