Currently, the NFL plays a 16 game season with games every week on either Thursdays, Sundays, or the famous Monday Night
Football. There are arguments and discussions almost every year whether to have fewer preseason games to have the players rest, longer preseason games so the season could be cut down, or even a longer season. Every year this happens, and every year the suggestions for having a longer season are always harshly rejected.
Although the owners, GM’s, Presidents, and any corporation involved making money would love to see this happen to increase revenue, most of the players would hate this.
