Living on an island that is already developed and crowded is frightening. Oahu’s traffic is horrendous; the island of O’ahu is ranked at second on the list of worst traffic in the nation. The debut of Rail Transit took place on February 22, 2011. Prior to the groundbreaking, the State of Hawaiʻi was given billions of dollars from the Federal Transit Administration with the intent of creating the rail. A large amount of this project is funded by the tourism industry in Hawaiʻi, Hawaiʻi residents, and bussinesses. The state of Hawai’i accepted the challenged by promoting the concept of the rail system. The city is running out of needed resources for the continuation of this project. The state did not properly estimate the full cost of production for the Rail. In creating the rail system the traffic has increased. The State of Hawaiʻi is running out of resources to accomadate Rail Transit. The state is using already developed land to lay the tracks of rail, which is hurting specific neighborhoods. People of these given communities are seeing their beloved land being changed compeltely, the land they once knew will never look the same. This alternative option for traffic has managed to succesfully take the land of Native Hawaiians. Months after the construction of Rail Transit, workers discovered the remains of native Hawaiians.When human remains were found the state didn’t hault the construction, instead they continued. The state officials didn’t properly plan the path of rail, they chose to start construction in a remote area in which they felt was adequate. The island of Oʻahu is already filled and cluttered as is, adding another construction project elimates large areas of land mass.
