No child deserves to be harassed. Jamie Nabozny lived in a small town that goes by the name of Ashland, Wisconsin. From his first day of middle school, to his last day of high school, he gets harassed and abused every day due to his sexual orientation. Every day got worse and worse. Nabozny even attempted suicide several times in middle school. One day, Nabozny tried to hide, but didn’t hide well enough. He got beat so bad, he had to go through surgery and stay in the hospital for 5 days. Nabozny was so brave to stand up to his bullies, and inspire many others around the world.
Jamie Nabozny was very brave to conquer bullying all by himself even after everything that had happened to him. Nabozny was bullied everyday since the first day of middle school to the last day of high school. He even had to go through surgery one day because he was beat so bad. He was tired of constantly getting bullied, so he filed a lawsuit against his school district for failure to protect him from bullying. His lawsuit was first rejected by the court. After all his perseverance, they finally accepted his lawsuit. Jamie Nabozny was able to overcome getting bullied due to him being very brave. Even though the school district did not do anything to protect him, he found a way to stand up to the bullies and the district by filing a lawsuit. “If you say anything, we’ll kill you.” These words will forever run through Nabozny’s mind, but maybe now it gives him more of a sense of accomplishment as he stood up to the bullies than a sense of defeat. If everyone would understand that getting bullied makes you feel terrible, and has almost no benefit for the bully, we could end bullying, and make schools and the world a better and safer
