You have to put it above other important financial responsibilities such as making steps towards retirement, saving for a down payment on your house, getting married, and even your future family. Therefore, your life is ultimately delayed because of your student debt. This could all be avoided simply with the right guidance and by saving up money for college when you’re young so you can pay cash for your classes. At the end of the day, one could make up multiple excuses to argue that they need to get a student loan. Such reasons could include, “My parents can’t afford to send me to college,” or “I have more important financial obligations than to pay for school”. The reality is that there are too many ways to avoid student loans and pay for college perfectly fine without them.
