Birth Control Pill
“In 1914, activist, Margaret Sanger, coins the term birth control and opens the first birth control clinic in Brownsville, Brooklyn, and starts the American Birth Control League, the precursor to Planned Parenthood” (Nikolchev, 2010). It marks a very important part of women’s rights which allowed women to choose when they wanted to have a family. It would take a number of years for drug development and trials to be performed before the pill would finally become approved in 1960.
