The college industry has blown up. Tution is so high that students second guess going to college. In a desperate attempt to attract more college students the colleges glamorize what college really is; the pursuit of knowledge. So they remodel their campus into something fun to intrigue future students and then charge them extra for tuition in order to pay off the fancy updates to the rooms the college built to hook the student in the first place. Colleges will do just about anything to keep the new generations interested in pursuing their education. They find a way to increase their demand, then they raise their prices of tuition to pay off the latest investment. The system hasn't always been this way, I believe it's after the market crash
