I disagree with the fact that anyone should be against the use of a gun or owning one. Owning guns has been an American right ever since The Constitution was written. Most of the news channels I have seen in the last year have been slandering gun use. Sometimes, it is easy to forget the person behind the gun is the one at fault—not the gun. Young people go through hunter safety and learn that if guns are handled properly, they are nothing to worry about. They can also be a great use in obtaining food from hunting, relieving stress, or even protecting against criminals. Changing gun laws will also change the way the public looks at things. Action movies where violence is a focal point may become obsolete due to promoting guns by media standards. The idea anyone should be afraid of a gun just does not make sense. It is unable to harm anyone. Being afraid of another human being though is a different case. As humans we are unpredictable and dangerous with some of our thinking. It is only rational that if someone senses negative intentions to become afraid, but if someone has a gun, that person would have an advantage over the other person. Guns should be only used for any recreational or defensive purposes. The controversy over gun control should not even be a thought since it is against the Third Amendment to take away an American’s arms. I do not believe The Supreme Court would ever break something written in The Constitution considering it is their job to uphold it and determine what is and is not constitutional. Taking away gun rights will only effect citizens in harm’s way because criminals are criminals for a reason.
