Participants will have the opportunity to meet other women in the field and make connections that could be life-changing. This event will empower women to continue on their path of involvement in the musical world, and will also include the presentation of a few sizable grants, given to women in attendance who have made undeniable contributions to music. The specific needs of the affected community (a community that collectively spans the entire globe) are its needs to be properly included, recognized, and appreciated in the music world, and this program is intending to meet these needs through its various activities (networking, grant presentation, educational seminars, keynote address, etc.). Since women in music are located all around the world, the community is quite broad here, as it includes many physical communities, but one cultural community, musicians. The world’s collective community is in need of social change in regard to how it treats women in music right now, so this symposium will hopefully be beneficial to every physical community that the women in attendance come from.
Obviously, the population expected to benefit from this project is, quite specifically, women in music. Any woman in the music field will be welcome at this symposium, as it is aimed at all women in music, regardless of age, race, place of residency, area of musical interest (performance, composing, etc.), and so on. Since these women will come from communities all around the world, not any one specific community, the needs of the benefitting population and perceived communities are virtually the same
