The prosecution believes that Hae was murdered between the times of 2:15 p.m. and 2:36 p.m. They believe that after school ended, Adnan asked to get a ride from Hae and strangled her at the Best Buy parking lot. In the call logs, it shows that Jay received two incoming calls from probably Adnan while at Jenn’s house. The call at 2:36 p.m. is the one supposed to be the ‘come-get-me’ call. Jay doesn’t claim that it is because he remembers it being around 3:40 p.m. Jenn also says that Jay didn’t leave her house until 3:30 p.m. Adnan was waiting at Best Buy by the phone booth when Jay went to pick him up. Jay says that when he arrives at Best Buy, Adnan shows him Hae’s body in her car’s truck. Adnan takes Hae’s car and he takes Adnan’s car to the parking area to stash the body for now. After they leave, they head to the Forest Park for weed (“Route Talk”). The call to Jenn’s home fits the time when they must’ve ditched the car. The call was at 3:21 p.m. and pinged at tower L651. As said before, L651 reaches the areas near the school and Best Buy. If they were near I-70 Park and Ride, then the L689 tower should’ve caught the call. Also, Adnan has no reason to call Jenn, so Jay must be the one making the call. The issue with this is that Jay left her house at around 3:30 p.m., so then where was Jay at this …show more content…
Nisha was contacted at 3:32 p.m. and talked for less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Jay adds that Adnan gave him the phone to talk to her (“Route Talk”). Both documents prove that Adnan wasn’t at track practice when he said he was. First of all, Adnan is the only one who knows Nisha, so Jay wouldn’t call her. Secondly, how would they talk for a decent amount of time if he was at track practice? Lastly, Nisha doesn’t have an answering machine, so it couldn’t have been a voicemail (“The Case against Adnan Syed”). The timestamps for both Jay’s second statement and the log match, however, the locations don’t. Jay said he talked to Nisha when they were at a golf course by West Forest Park Avenue. The call was pinged back near Best Buy and that tower wouldn’t have received the call in that area. If Jay said that they were by Forest Park, then cell tower L689 would’ve been in the
