Illegal immigrants can carry dangerous diseases. First, Frontpage Mag says, “Former Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-Ga.) wrote a letter last year to the head of the CDC stating that the multitudes of minors entering the country illegally carry with them deadly diseases put the American public and Border Patrol agents in jeopardy.” This shows that illegal immigrants have been identified to have carried dangerous viruses across the border. Many immigrants have already carried viruses across. Phil Gingrey also says in the letter “ Among those maladies are dengue fever, swine flu, and possibly Ebola virus …show more content…
A common argument against this is that illegal immigrants are not paid enough to pay their own taxes, but they reason they are not paid enough is because they do not have the required amount of education needed to earn the better paying jobs. For example, in the Washington Post, Steven A. Camarota states,”Households headed by illegal aliens imposed more than $26.3 billion in costs on the federal government in 2002 and paid only $16 billion in taxes, creating a net fiscal deficit of $10.4 billion, or $2,700 per illegal household”. This means that illegal immigrants are using more government services than they pay for, leaving the United States in debt. Because the country is in debt, our taxes go up to pay and refuel our country. Another example from the Washington Post is that a study shows that illegal immigrants pay in taxes “one-fourth those of other households because of low-income jobs”. This says that illegal immigrants are not able to pay their fair share of taxes because they are not being supplied enough money from their jobs. Low- income jobs are being blamed for this when it was because of the immigrants “low education levels” that they were not given higher-income jobs. In conclusion, illegal immigration raises taxes because of the immigrants who do not fully pay
