In a few early manuscripts, the words “at Ephesus” are excluded. Some say that these means the letter was not intended for the Ephesians, others say that those words were left out because it was a circular letter, meaning it was intended to be read by all the churches in Asia Minor, and they could then fill in the name of their church. It also lacks personal greetings to individuals in Ephesus which is unusual for Paul.
