Arnie: Most Responsible For Becoming An Outstanding Student

Having read the College Paper Case Study, I have decided in my own opinion to rank the four characters involved in the following order.

Most Responsible 1 REGGIE 2 SALLY 3 ARNIE 4 PROFESSOR LOVEIT Least Responsible

REGGIE was most responsible for his own failure because, he had every opportunity of becoming an outstanding student but he was not prepared to assume full responsibility for his learning. Reggie’s failure was inevitable due to his attitude towards his studies, he never had a study plan and was very poor at time management. In fact, Reggie was not only responsible for his own failing grade but also contributed to Arnie’s failing grade.

SALLY, Reggie’s Academic Support Counselor responsible for Reggie’s failing grade. I say that because, among the three characters, Sally had more contact with Reggie and he was always intimating her on the status of his paper. It was her responsibility enlighten Reggie on the need for him to plan a schedule of his activities which would have helped him manage his time better. Sally failed as a counselor irrespective of her efforts; Reggie’s failing grade only proofs that her efforts was not good enough.

Arnie still insisted on doing the right thing until time was no longer on his side then he painfully resorted to copy the essay from the Internet. Why I fault him is because, he never sought for any assistance even though he was finding the book very difficult and when Reggie eventually approached him, he ought to have rebuked Reggie and suggested a better
