Another piece of artwork that I find interesting is American Gothic which was created by Grant Wood in 1930. This work of art was created using oil on beaverboard and is located at the Art Institute in Chicago. The reason American Gothic has always caught my attention is that the farmer in the photo is so serious and I want to know if that is his wife or daughter standing next to him. If I had one question to ask Grant Wood I would ask him how he got inspiration for the work of art by just driving by a house in Iowa. Another aspect of the work of art that has caught my attention over the years is the house and the barn which has amazing detail.
