Art Evaluation Report
For my Art Evaluation Report I decided to David Harping. I chose this piece of Artwork because the style of drawing looks really neat to me. I like how all the outside lines are very skinny. One more thing that attracted me to choosing the art was that he was playing the Harp I love music and how it can just put your mind at ease so it seemed like a very calm and peaceful work of art. This piece of art work to me looks like it could be about a king sitting at his throne resting playing the Harp. The message I am receiving from this work is that if you listen and play the Harp you will be relaxed. In this Piece of artwork the artists uses different kinds of elements to make this piece look good. He uses skinny lines on the outer edge of David’s hands and head to kind of create a sense of tension and nervousness. The artist also uses Form in the way that he draws. David has a very weird shaped head because of how detailed the beard he has is. Color is also a big part of this drawing they use a lot of the primary blue and secondary orange. Since this is a two-dimensional piece of art there isn’t really any mass but the way they shaded with the colors it kind of gives off like it could have mass. The Texture to this piece looks like it could be kind of rough because of how the artist drew all the clothes on him. The artist in this drawing used some principles of art when making this piece. I noticed fairly quickly that one of the principles that he used was repetition. All along the borders and in the background behind David you can see repetition by the way all those diamonds in the back look and the little boxes with “x’s” in them look alike. Another Principle of art that the artist used was balance. You can see the balance in the drawing because the upward curving arcs at
