Tragedy struck that horrible night at the house of Queenie and Arthur Volupides. Queenie attended a country club party late that night. She left shortly before one in the morning and invited back some friends to have another drink. While waiting for her friends, she heard Arthur start to come down the stairs, but he slipped on the stairs and fell. Queenie was alarmed when the doorbell rang. She quickly told her friends what happened and asked for help. An autopsy concluded Arthur died of a head wound and was intoxicated. It cannot be proven beyond a reasonable doubt that Queenie killed Arthur. The most important piece of evidence is Arthur was intoxicated. It is highly likely that Arthur lacked the coordination required to walk down the stairs.
